We are launching an export program for Japan

Together with our partners Innovation Norway and NORWEP we invite 15 companies to join the program Global Growth Offshore Wind Japan.

Japan is an emerging market for offshore wind. In October last year, the “Sixth Strategic Energy Plan” was approved in Japan to deliver 10 GW of wind projects by 2030 (5.7 GW of offshore wind) and 30-45 GW by 2040. 

- Japan’s offshore wind power is beginning to move. Japanese offshore wind developers are actively looking for international partners with a track record and knowledge of offshore wind, and many Norwegian companies have the expertise needed for this market, says Arvid Nesse, manager of Norwegian Offshore Wind.

During the one-year program, the selected companies will meet with strategic partners in Japan and participate in workshops and seminars to make them ready for market.

The first gathering will be held in connection with Global Offshore Wind Summit 2022 in Akita City on Nov 9-10. Exhibition and business meetings will be organized, and participants will exchange views on solutions to various issues of offshore wind power in Japan. Big Japanese and international offshore wind industry representatives will be present.
