Explore Greece's Offshore Wind Opportunities with Visit NOW Greece! Join our upcoming market visit to Greece – a great opportunity for offshore wind companies to be part of the growing collaboration between Norway and Greece in offshore wind energy.

Over the past year, Norwegian Offshore Wind and ELETAEN in Greece have strengthened ties through mutual visits, fostering a robust partnership. Building upon this foundation, we extend a warm invitation to our members for another market visit to Greece, with a specific focus on the early development phase of offshore wind projects.

Our previous visit to Greece, as well as the following visit of Greek companies to Norway, laid the foundations for building partnerships with Greek companies. We experienced significant interest from our Greek counterparts, and established several promising connections that could be commercially advantageous. During this Visit NOW, we aim to further leverage the strong relationships built in this market.

Gunnar Birkeland, CEO of Source Galileo, and working group leader for the Greek market.

Why Greece?

Greece plans to develop Offshore Wind Farms at a scale of 1.9 GW by 2030 and 17.3 GW by 2050, aiming to boost its domestic GDP. Projections suggest an annual economic impact of up to €1.9 billion from 2024 to 2050, creating around 44,400 jobs per year. Additionally, these developments are expected to attract substantial investments, reaching €6 billion by 2030 and an impressive €28 billion by 2050.

Opportunities for Norwegian Companies

As Greece is still in the planning phase, there is a need for developing R&I capacities and infrastructures in the offshore wind energy supply chain. This presents a unique opportunity for Norwegian companies to play an important role in the upcoming Offshore Wind Energy developments in Greece.

What to Expect:

  • In-Depth Insights: Gain a comprehensive understanding of Greece's Offshore Wind sector, including current plans, projections, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Networking Opportunities: Engage with key stakeholders, government officials, and industry experts from both Greece and Norway.
  • Site Visits: Explore potential project sites, providing valuable insights for potential collaborations.
  • Business Matchmaking: Connect with potential partners, clients, and collaborators through tailored matchmaking sessions, facilitating meaningful business engagements.Join us for the Visit NOW Greece!

This market visit offers Norwegian companies a valuable opportunity to position themselves as key players in Greece's offshore wind sector.
