Olav Olsen and Seawind tie up for two-bladed offshore turbines

Norwegian offshore engineering outfit Dr Techn Olav Olsen and Dutch two-bladed wind turbine designer Seawind have forged a strategic partnership with a view to deploying an innovative 6.2MW model mated to a concrete gravity-base (CGB) foundation next year off the west coast of Norway. The flagship would be installed in some 38 metres of water off Karmøy at the Marine Energy Test Centre (MetCentre), a grid-connected 40MW offshore wind laboratory, not far from the Hywind 1 floating wind demonstrator.
