New EU funding opportunity for offshore wind companies

Companies within offshore wind can now apply for funding from the European Innovation Fund.

-There are a lot of Norwegian companies who stand a good chance in this competition, says EU advisor in Norwegian Offshore Wind Tor Arne Johnsen. However, you would need to have mature project and a strong partnership.

 Renewable energy is a prioritized area in this call, where small projects are eligible. The definition of a small project is an envestment cost lower than € 7,5 million.

The fund can cover up to 60 percent of the total investments. Additionally, the fund cover part of the operations costs up to 10 years, based on the projects reduced Co2 emissions. An important criterium is that the project must demonstrate new climate technology in a commercial scale.
