- The signal from the government today is that they want to facilitate industry building, and we are happy about that. When it comes to floating offshore wind, we are completely dependent on support in an initial phase. Now we in the industry will look at the details of the various models the government put forward today before we provide our input, says manager of Norwegian Offshore Wind, Arvid Nesse.

The government today presented its proposals for the framework for Sørlige Nordsjø II and Utsira Nord. They are asking for input from the industry with a consultation deadline of 6 January. The areas will be put to tender during Q1 2023 -  or at least that is the ambition from the government.

- We need a speedy process, and we expect the government to keep the timeline they have promised today. The entire Norwegian offshore wind industry is eager to get started, and we will work together to give the most constructive input possible, says Arvid Nesse.

Norwegian Offshore Wind is the largest offshore wind representative body in Norway, and they will invite the industry to a discussion meeting before Christmas.

- We must remember that Norway's position in the international markets is dependent on the projects at home, says Nesse.

The Minister of Petroleum and Energy aims for a close dialogue with the Norwegian offshore wind industry.

— The government wants the investment in offshore wind to provide industrial development in Norway, facilitate innovation and technology development and provide increased production of renewable power. To achieve these goals, we must have a close dialogue with the offshore wind industry and other industries at sea, says Terje Aasland, minister of Petroleum and Energy.
